Philo Galpin married Jane Townsend and they became parents of four children: Freeman P., Aurilla, who was the wife of Edwin Curtis and died leaving one child, Adelbert; Susannah, who became Mrs. O.A. Sober, and is now deceased; and Eliza Ann, the wife of Arthur Covert.

Freeman P. Galpin was born in Monroe Co, NY in 1825 and came to where he now resides in 1832 and has since made this place his home.  He was first married in 1845 to Miss Elmira Pray, by whom he had three children, Philo, Maurice and Franklin.  In 1853 Mrs. Galpin died and Mr. Galpin afterwards was united in marriage with Mary, d. of Samuel Ruthruff and by this union have been born eight children, four of whom are still living, William, Limus, Minnie Ella and May.
