 Notes for LUIGI L'ORELLO:

This roll of film #1519138 had what is termed a "marriage bundle".  In Italy when you wanted to be married, the would be bride and groom needed to take certain documents to city hall for review.  In some cases the LDS Church has been able to view and copy all the documents for a persons marriage request.  In Luigis case, I did find a bundle and have all the documents that were copied.  Luigi's marriage information, wife;s name and her parents was found on LDS film #1519138, document #7Transcript of Marriage along with many other documents which I have and will refer to throughout this database..

 Luigi Vincenzo L'Orello is the son of Saverio Lorello and Aurelia Cavcalente.  Luigi is a tailor.  Luigi married Maria Federico

 5.  PIETRO MARIA ANTONIO⁴ L'ORELLO (ANTONIO MARIA³, FRANCESCO SAVERIO², DOMENICO¹) was born 28 Jun 1855 in Luzzi, Italy.  He married (1) CONCETTA ANNA PAPA Jun 1881 in Rose, Cosenza, Italy, daughter of RAFFAELE PAPA and ENCHANETTA ARIANI.  She was born 1851 in Rose, Italy, and died Jan 1889 in Rose, Cosenza, Reggio Di Calabria, Italy. He then married (2) VINCENZINA RUFFALO.

Peter's birth date was found on LDS Film #1519140, document #50 and again document #59.  Peter's occupation was a shoemaker.  This information is on some documents found at the LDS Library in Salt Lake City and verified by his grandson Peter Orello.  He also played the guitar

Concetta's death record was found at the LDS Library Salt Lake City, Utah. FHL #1641239 #32

The death certificate states that Gabriele Papa and Antonio Papa notified the officials in Rose about the death.  It further states that her father is Raffaele and her mother is deceased.  Mother's name is Enchrichetta Ariani.  Concetta lives at Via Piazza with her husband, Pietro L'Orello.

 Santoro Fortunato and Lorenzo Castiglione are the witnesses.

 Marriage License found at LDS Library Salt Lake City, Utah FHL #1641239.  Verified that Concetta Anna Papa is the daughter of Raffaele who is deceased and of Enrichetta Ariani who is also deceased.

 Gilberto L'Orello arrived in America on March 30, 1909.  He was 16 years old and lived in Rende.  His ship The Madonna sailed from Naples.  Gilberto was coming to Chicago to be with his brother Ottavio who resided at 155 Forquer Street, Chicago, Illinois. In 1936 Forquer Street became Arthington St.

 6.  OTTAVIO MARTINO ANGELO⁵ L'ORELLO (PIETRO MARIA ANTONIO⁴, ANTONIO MARIA³, FRANCESCO SAVERIO², DOMENICO¹) was born 15 Nov 1885 in Rose, Italy, and died 1964 in Rende, Cosenza, Reggio, Italy.  He married CONSTANCE (Constantina)  MORRONE 19 Dec 1903 in Rende, Cosenza, Reggio Di Calabria, Italy, daughter of SANTO MORRONE and MARIA MANDARINI.  She was born 1883 in Rende, Italy, and died 1966 in Rende, Cosenza, Reggio, Italy.

Ottavio L'Orello is a Farmer and is 18 years old when he applies to marry Constantina Morrone. The application for marriage states that Ottavio is the son of Pietro a shoemaker and the deceased Concetta Papa who during her lifetime resided in Rose.  The witnesses are Antonio who is 33 yrs. old and Michelangelo who is 25 yrs. old.

 Constantina Morrone arrived in America on December 20, 1906.  She went to 114 Hester St. , New York to stay with her cousin Salvatore Ma-t-iello. She sailed on the Konig Albert out of Naples.  She lists Rende as her last residence.  She is 23 years old and married.

Detroit, Mich., daughter of JOSEPH ROMEO aka TRIPEPI and DOMENICA ASSUNTA BARBARO.  She was born 04 Apr 1915 in Massena, St. Lawrence County, N.Y., and died 23 Jan 1983 in Dearborn, Mich..

 Notes for PETER ORELLO:

Peter Orello was baptized at Holy Guardian Angel Church on Forquer now Arthington Street in Chicago.  The church was demolished in 1960 to make way for the Eisenhower Expressway and the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Pete's birth certificate states he was born at 79 Miller Street.  Prior to 1909 79 Miller Street became 821 Miller Street due to the City of Chicago renumbering dwellings.

Peter Orello returned to America at age 18. His ship's manifest states that he was born in the USA and is going to Chicago, Illinois to his Uncle Luigi Sturino at 1319 Elbuner St.. Pete came back on the Count de Rossi.

Medical Information: Light brown hair, hazel eyes and fair complexion. Cleft in chin 

Catherine was buried on January 25, 1983 after a funeral mass at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church on Vernor Hwy. in Detroit.  The same church in which she was married.  After the death of her husband Pete, Catherine was removed from Woodmere Cemetery, Fort St., Detroit to Mount Kelly on Cherry Hill in Dearborn in December, 2001.
