It shows Alva E. Trumbull as 34 years old, born in NY on September 1865. His wife Addie D. as 22 years old and born in MI in April 1878. They have been married for 6 years and are they parents of 3 children, 2 living. At the time of the census Owen Harvey is 3 years old and Alva G. is 1.
Their first child, Francis or Frances died at age 4 in 1899 of spinal meningitis. They had a fourth child in 1901, George Leslie.
Alva and Addie apparently moved to Grand Rapids, MI sometime after 1900 and they were probably divorced there early in the century. Addie had remarried by 1905.
Alva was also probably married to Katherine Roe Conley of Rapids Township, Kent Co., MI. Katherine was born in 1869 and died June 4, 1910. She was the daughter of Patrick Roe and Lovina Bement.
In the 1910 census Alvin Trumbull, 43, born in MI was boarding in Grand Rapids. He remarried later that year. His sons Alva 11, and George 9, were boarding with Scott and Martha Yates at Hoxeyville, Wexford Co., MI.
At the time of his death in 1945, Alva was living at 1058 Ida Avenue, N.W., Grand Rapids, MI. His widow was Stella M. Shell Morse of Saginaw, MI.
